easy breezy.

i've been in the market for a new beauty product and this one kept coming up everywhere i looked. so i finally gave in and purchased it in flirty nude. the outcome? i love it!

i've always been a little wary about purchasing lip products that come out of something that looks like a sharpie. it just brings back memories of friends drawing on you with a strawberry scented marker and the resulting faded smiley face that would last for days. well with this, you still get that same strawberry scent, lasting color, but this time easily removeable! this lipstain is perfect for when you don't want anything sticking to your lips and when you don't want your lip color coming off on anything else.

when there's no food.

this is my go to meal. packaged ramen. yes, yes, hate on me all you want, it is DELICIOUS. we are living in the time of locally/home grown organic prepared from scratch meals, but i can always count on this pre-packaged sodium bomb to hit the spot. scorching hot, eggy, with a generous sprinkling of s&b chili pepper, easily one of my favorite comfort foods.

cheese!

i don't remember how i came across this incredibly cute camera, but for years i have wanted one. so long, in fact, that the one i originally wanted is old news and this slightly less bulky and purse friendly version is now available. i dream about whipping this baby out during outings with friends or whenever the mood strikes. one push of the button and out pops a credit card sized photo, perfect for keeping with you at all times to remember the good days.

you can purchase the fuji instax mini 25 at urban outfitters for $156 or try your luck (and possibly score some below market value film) on ebay!

dolla dolla bill y'all.

since moving to the new place, i've been taking mental notes of restaurants and shops that have piqued my interest. one place that has been floating around my thoughts lately was the one dollar bookstore. the name of the store is pretty self explanatory but in case you are still wondering, it's a store that sells books. for only $1. every book. $1. no joke. whether it's a recent hardcover bestseller or a vintage cookbook for entertaining from the 70's, everything is only $1 and i can't stress that enough (even though i'm trying). what i loved most about this store was that i could be completely nostalgic and purchase some favorite reads from my childhood (hello, little house in the big woods and babysitter's club) and at the same time, get around to buying those that i am on the fence about. summer sisters for $10? we'll see. summer sisters for $1? hell yes.

i happily put my pile of light reading on the counter and then just as happily handed over my $6 + tax. next time, i plan on spending a good hour or 2 perusing through the various vintage cookbooks. 60's dinner party, anyone?

one dollar bookstore is located at 8520 E Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92869

say hello.

in the age of technology, it's rare that you might receive an actual piece of snail mail, much less one that doubles as home decor. these sweet little postcards are so cute, i would be willing to send one to myself if no one else did. how happy would you be if you received one of these in the mail?

although postcarden does not ship to the u.s., you can use third party retailers such as this one for all of your mini garden needs.

love and beauty.

lately, i've been playing around a lot with nail color. my brand of choice? love & beauty by forever21. i'm not going to lie. you'll probably start to see chipping about 3 days in, but at $2.80 (plus tax) a bottle, can you really complain? plus they have an amazing variety of colors you just can't seem to find at your local drugstore. i don't know about you, but one thing that ticks me off is buying what you think is the color you want, but then going home and realizing something is... off. something small, something other people probably won't or don't care to even notice. but it just irks at you until you can't stand it and in a brash move, you swipe off every last trace and throw the bottle into the nearest junk drawer, never to be seen again. i have yet to be disappointed with this brand, even when ordering online.

this is my color du jour... coral. the bright orangish pink lifts my spirits every time i glance at my hand. it is in serious competition with their light gray (another thing i love.. no silly names, the color is light gray and it is called light gray) as my favorite.

spring splurge.

Henry Holland for Pretty Polly

ok, so $25 is not what an average person would consider a "splurge", but i've been drooling over these for the past couple of months and finally decided to make them mine. the faux suspender pattern allows for a bit of sexiness with without sacrificing comfort. pair them with a fitted mini dress and you're good to go for a night out!

new best friend.

there he is in all his fuzzy glory. introducing... mochi ball! he is insane and kind of an asshole but i love him.
